Amien is my name, photography is my game... Many have asked what it is that I do? Pretty much anything that I find fun. I believe that life isn't about work, work is only necessary to keep us living so as to enjoy the beauty & pleasures of life and what better place to do it, but in Cape Town :)
Having been in the web & software development industry for 11 years, with companies such as 9degrees & Ukash, I am now running DevCanvas Web Solutions, but also looking to focus my attention on one of my other passions... photography. Doing it for 6 years as a hobby, I have taken the leap further and now do portfolios, portraits, products, events & wedding photography. In addition to this being my photography website, it is also my personal website and features everything else that interests me, including my web design portfolio, videos, blog, hookups with friends and other random things.

What is this SleekGeek everyone is talking about? It’s a great initiative founded by Elan Lohmann and initially aimed “to get SA geeks off their asses and into shape”, now it's open to everyone really. I decided to take up the latest 12 week challenge which started on 1 Feb 2012 and WON :D

It`s that time of the year again where males (and some females) grow a moustache in order to raise awareness as well as funds for the prostate cancer charity. Last year I managed to raise R1,200+ , my team R115,000 and in total R528 million. let us beat that amount this year.
In order to get more people involved, I will be giving away a 1TB Samsung Portable Harddrive or Canon A800 Digital Camera bundle at the end of the month.
For every R12 donated, you will automatically be entered into the draw on 1st December 2011, so the more you donate, the better your chances are of winning!
10 finalists will be randomly drawn and given a number in the order they were drawn, 1-10
The winner will be decided by the last digit of the number of runs scored by Hashim Amla in the 1st innings of the 1st test match against Sri Lanka starting on 15th December 2011, eg:- if he scores 54, winner will be 4th drawn, if he scores 162, 2nd will be the winner, if he scores 0 or 80, 10th drawn will be the winner
If anybody else or companies wants to sponsor more prizes, let me know, we can choose an additional 10 people and base it on Graeme Smith`s score and so on... :)
Our team is doing pretty well this year and already raised over £11000. To donate, please choose the "donate to me" button on http://amien.net/movember , if you`re in South Africa and don`t have a credit card or paypal, EFT to me and I`ll be glad to do it for you :)
Movember has come to an end, and just over R1100 was raised for the cancer charity from my side. It's been fun as always, and to end it all, I've randomly drawn 10 entries from those that have donated in the following order:
1. Soraya Mo
2. Yaseen Tayob
3. Nafisa Seedat
4. Hasina Sayed
5. Adeeb Dollie
6. Farheen Kapdi
7. Yaseen Tayob
8. Christopher Mills
9. Traci Reddy
0. FZ Mamoojee
The winner of the 1TB harddrive will be determined by their drawn number if it corresponds with the last digit of Hashim Amla's score in the 1st innings of the 1st test against Sri Lanka on Dec 15th. If he is injured, the score of whoever is captain will be used, so keep an eye on the cricket to see if you win!
I know it's complicated, but nobody can say I fixed the competition :)
(winner can choose between the 1TB drive or Canon A800 digicam)
Good luck to all & thanks again for the support!
